We take breathing for granted almost every moment of our lives. Have you ever sat and contemplated the miracle of the breathe? We don't have to think about it, we don't have to control it, yet it happens several hundreds of times a day and it's what keeps us alive. How amazing!
As a mom I am sure that there are times when taking a deep breathe is the only thing that keeps you from going over the edge. My mom has forever told me to breathe and count to 10. "Yeah right mom," I would say. I can't even remember the sequence of numbers at those hair raising moments. It's amazing what the power of a deep breathe can accomplish I found out.
I really learned breathing techniques when I started Yoga. It's a simple 20 minute stress relief video I perform twice a day and it took a while to focus on the exercise and the breathe, but what a difference it has made in my life. Whenever I feel tense about anything, I take a deep breathe and I mean one of those deep breathes that you can feel all along your spinal cord and all of the tension literally, I mean literally pops.
A young mom Karen Gates from Seattle, Washington suggests Breathing!! "Sounds silly, but when I need a release and seem to have little or no time, I go outside, close my eyes and just breathe. Slowwwww-ly. In through the nose, out through the mouth. I count to 5 on each inhale and exhale. It really helps!"
I agree and it's a great example of a Mom's Release!
