A nationally published essayist, Cindy La Ferle has (for the most part) survived the early years of parenting and lived to tell the tale. Formerly the editor-in-chief of a national travel magazine, Cindy began freelance writing from home when her son, now a teenager, started kindergarten.
The child has given her some good raw material for her essays on home and family, many of which have appeared in print publications including Reader’s Digest, The Christian Science Monitor, Mary Engelbreit’s Home Companion, The Cleveland Plain Dealer, and The Detroit Free Press, as well as on Web sites such as Literary Mama, Natural Family Online, and Boomer Café. A collection of Cindy’s award-winning columns and personal essays are gathered in her new book, Writing Home, available on amazon.com and in bookstores.
Befitting the mother of a teenager, Cindy lives with her family in an old house in need of repair in Royal Oak, Michigan. Visit her Web site at www.laferle.com and send your comments to cindy@laferle.com
